By mid May we reached our destination, Perth! Very pleased to have accomplished such a journey – from one end of Australia to the other! Here are some highlights of our time in Perth when we first arrived.

We took a day trip to Lesmurdie Falls in the Perth Hills
At the end of April 2014, we reached Esperance, after our long journey across the Eyre Highway, and took the opportunity to relax for the day at Cape le Grand National Park

As we were leaving, we did the Great Ocean Drive tourist loop around the lovely beaches of Esperance
On the third day of our journey across the Nullarbor Plain, we crossed the border into Western Australia, stopping in Eucla and conquering the ’90 Mile Straight’ (Australia’s longest straight road) before continuing to Norseman.

Ceduna marked the start of our 1200 km trip across the Eyre Highway from SA to WA via the Nullarbor Plain – the world’s largest limestone landscape, which was once a part of the ocean floor!

Around the third week in April 2014 we were in close proximity to the Flinders Ranges, passing through the industrial town of Port Pirie and also Port Augusta – known as the crossroads of Australia, where major roads from the north, south, east and west all intersect.
