We travelled the Great Ocean Road in April 2014, one of the world’s most scenic drives! The unforgettable journey stretched over 240 km along the south eastern coast, and took us 3 days.

We reached the south eastern coastline in April 2014, and passed Ninety Mile Beach, a stretch of golden sand that runs for over 150km. We couldn’t see a single other person for miles!

Near the start of April, we made our way towards South Coast NSW. From Wollongong we stopped in Jervis Bay, Batemans Bay, Merimbula & Eden – before crossing the border into Victoria.

We took the opportunity to visit Palm Beach, in the northern suburbs of Sydney – otherwise known as ‘Summer Bay’, used in the filming of popular Aussie soap opera, Home & Away

By mid March 2014, we crossed the border back into New South Wales, after spending a few months in Queensland, and began to head back down the east coast again – ready for our next big road trip!
After 3 months on the Gold Coast, we finally left at the end of February 2014. On our last morning, the Gold Coast Bulletin published our first ever newspaper article! Take a look at our News Section and read the full story!

We loved spending a summery Christmas and New Year in Surfers Paradise. There were lots of festive activities taking place and we enjoyed our first Christmas Day on the beach!
